CALGARY, ALBERTA - XLEG is a slim, lightweight, and wearable mobility assistance device and crutch alternative that helps people move around safely and easily. XLEG is Robinson Exotech Corp.’s flagship product and the first device of its kind to hit the market. The XLEG product aims to help people with mobility, either after an injury or for a long-term user.
Short-term users who have a single injury (foot fracture, ankle, tibia/fibula, knee, or bunion surgery) require a non-weight-bearing device throughout treatment. For long-term users using canes, wheelchairs, and crutches, the XLEG provides versatility as you can walk with full mobility on any surface.
The XLEG solves the problem of recovery time as it’s a non-weight-bearing device: the entire weight is transferred to the soft tissue of the thigh. The premise for XLEG is simple: you can be fitted with the XLEG and walk out of the hospital in under one hour. This allows you to return to your life sooner: you get back to work and back to doing what you love to do, without any pain.
“I built XLEG in my garage after an injury because I wanted to play with my kids,” says founder Reid Robinson. “I quickly learned I was doing what I wanted to do without any pain and wanted others to experience the same pleasure.”
XLEG is developed with the assistance of Alberta Innovates, a catalyst for innovation. Research and innovation that lead to economic diversification, enhanced environmental performance, and social well-being are priorities for the Alberta Government. Great ideas and technologies created by Albertans need the best innovation support system we can deliver.
Alberta Innovates is the place where innovators, businesses, and researchers can access cross-sectoral knowledge and expertise, funding, business supports, networks, and research facilities to turn their ideas into products and products into companies.

Spartan Spark is a company with 17 years of guerrilla-style marketing under their belts. That experience, combined with their innovative software, gets kickass results. Like a Master Chef, they’ve figured out which recipes work to cook that juicy steak on the barbecue (sorry, vegans!) or make those deadly delicious cupcakes.
