If you are considering tweaking the design of your Facebook page, you’ll have to take these new changes into consideration. In this article, we explore the new Facebook design changes so that you can tailor your graphics accordingly.

Old vs. New Facebook Layout

You’ll notice on the new layout that the menu options on the top bar are the same and the content within them are the same design-wise. The biggest change you’ll notice is that the “Promote” button was to the top right of the cover photo on the old admin view and it is now in the left sidebar at the bottom. You’ll also notice statistics that were below the Promote button are now below the status update box.

Cover Photo Considerations

One of the greatest things about the new Facebook layout is that you will be able to design your cover photo without worrying about overlap. Previously, your Facebook page’s cover photo was covered by your profile photo, page name, username, CTA button, Like button, the message button, etc. The new design displays the cover photo without any overlap!

Facebook’s Help page currently recommends that you size your cover photo to be displayed on desktop browsers at 828 pixels wide by 315 pixels tall, and on mobile browsers at 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall.

Adding a CTA button

On the new Facebook layout, the Call to Action button is brighter and bolder. This should entice people to click your CTA button! So if you haven’t already done so, be sure to add a CTA button that drives people to a conversion oriented page or an information page, depending on your goal.
